Foothills Piecemakers Quilting Guild
Greenville, South Carolina
Community Outreach Foothills Quilters support various organizations in our community by donating quilts that they have made.
Each year many quilts are given by our members to those in need of a “quilt hug”. Whether it is a tote bag for women who come to a shelter or a colorful blanket for a child or a quilt for those who have served our country so bravely, our guild is always ready to lend a helping hand.
Quilts of Valor
"The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover all combat service
members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of
Valor." The website is http://www.qovf.org/. Our members have helped by making blocks for quilts, piecing tops, and quilting the tops. I will try to get you pictures as things come in from our Guild. Also, many of the members are members of QSC whose goal is to have each member do a QOV in the next 2 years.
Members of Foothills Piecemakers Quilt Guild have been making quilt blocks for the National and South Carolina block drive in honor of the 10thAnniversary of Quilts of Valor
Foundation. They pick up kits with patterns and return them with extra blocks made from their own fabric too. People interested in helping to make quilt tops for QOV are attending Saturday Sewing days at Marietta’s Quilt and Sew. There is one a month. Fabric is provided and different block patterns are taught each month. Anyone interested can attend for free.
